Nevada’s window tint law comes down to three rules: one for the front side windows, one for the rear glass and one for the windshield. Here’s how the 2026 limits work so you can choose the look you want, with Polar Tint Henderson handling the install.
The law (NRS 484D.440)

That mirror condition is written into the statute itself: NRS 484D.440 only allows any-darkness rear glass on a vehicle equipped with outside mirrors on both sides that give the driver at least 200 feet of rearward visibility. That is standard equipment on virtually every car, truck, and SUV built in decades, so in practice it almost never changes what a Henderson driver can legally do — but it is the actual legal hook the dark-rear-glass rule hangs on.

Where the front-side limit sits

Medical exemptions
Nevada allows a medical exemption: you apply in writing to the Nevada Highway Patrol (Department of Public Safety) using its Application for Window Tint Exemption, with a sworn statement from your treating physician, and the approved exemption must be kept in the vehicle. The exemption covers only the vehicles listed on the application, and the form states that no exemption below 20% VLT will be approved. The permit is issued for either a 4-year term on a temporary condition or an indefinite term on a permanent, stable condition. Once approved, we can install film to the specs on your exemption.
