Nevada’s window tint law is more permissive than most surrounding states. Here’s how the 2026 limits work so you can choose the look you want, with Polar Tint Henderson handling the install.
The law (NRS 484D.440)
| Window | Minimum VLT | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Windshield | n/a | AS-1 strip only across the top |
| Front side windows | 35% | Both driver and passenger |
| Rear side windows | Any darkness | 5% limo dark is legal |
| Rear window | Any darkness | 5% limo dark is legal |
Common Polar Tint Henderson pairings
- 35% front + 20% rear sides + 5% back: most-requested pairing on sedans
- 35% front + 5% all rear glass: privacy maximum on SUVs and trucks
- 50% VLT all sides + 35% on rear: maximum heat rejection without visible darkness on the front
Where the front-side limit sits
Nevada caps the front side windows at 35% VLT. Because the citation for a below-limit front side goes to the vehicle owner rather than the shop, we make sure you know exactly where that line falls. We’ll show you the darkest legal front-side option (35%), explain how it pairs with darker rear glass, and install the combination you choose.
Medical exemptions
Nevada allows medical exemption stickers for darker tint with a physician statement. The exemption attaches to the vehicle (not the driver). Bring the documentation and Polar Tint Henderson will install the darker front-side film your exemption permits.
Enforcement
Henderson PD and Nevada Highway Patrol do enforce tint law, especially on traffic stops. A modest moving-violation fine can apply and a citation requires removal before re-inspection. Knowing the 35% front-side limit up front lets you weigh that against the look you want.
